We have noticed that some clubs are already releasing dates for later in the year. As a club we are of course keen to be up and running again, but we will not be releasing any dates until we are absolutely sure that we will be able to run. The reason for this is that we don’t want to cause people to be disappointed by releasing dates that due to the restrictions, we may later have to cancel. We are aware that some hotels refused to change bookings at the beginning of lockdown – which is pretty appalling given that none of us had any control over the situation. We don’t want to encourage people to spend money on things that they may not be able to use. None of us know how the infection rate will progress, so in our minds it is better to wait it out for a definite go ahead.
We’re not wasting the down time, we’re busy creating lots of loveliness for when we can run again. We have a few gorgeous new items for you to play with but you’ll have to wait and see what they are. James has a lot of new UV reactive rope in readiness and the sales table has been restocked.
In all probability, unless our first event falls in September, November or December, we’ll be starting back with the ‘Under the Sea’ theme that we had already planned for April this year. We are aware that many of you had prepared outfits and props for this so it would be a shame to let them go to waste.
We will ensure that we have everything in place to be able to run at the earliest date we are allowed to. We will not be releasing tickets until we know when that is (hence none of our events on Billetto are currently active).
It is likely that our first events will be presale only (or prebook to pay on the door) as numbers are likely to be limited by the government guidelines. If face coverings are required, we will have disposable ones available, although if you have your own then please bring them. Gloves will not be provided as it has been proven that they offer no protection to yourself or others and can in fact cause people to be less careful about hand hygiene – hence we ask you NOT to wear them unless you are engaging in play that requires them. We already have a lot of hand gel at the ready from our last event. Plentiful surface/skin cleaning products will be available as always.
We feel that given the nature of our club and the close contact that happens, it is important to be very stringent with health and safety, hence all attendees will have their temperature taken on arrival using a contactless thermometer – although we trust that people will be good enough not to attend if they are (or suspect that they are) at all unwell. In the event of anyone being refused access due to a raised temperature, their ticket will simply be carried over to the next event.
Ladies of a certain age, please don’t worry if you are having a ‘tropical moment’ on arrival – we are quite happy to give it 10 minutes and then re-check.
So, until we meet again, stay happy, stay kinky and most of all, stay safe!
Love from us all at The House of Rua.
